 About Amaze

Amaze, the liveliest B-school festival marks the existence of talent, intelligence, enthusiasm, spirit of joy and loads of fun!! Over the years, organizers and participants have shown oozing pride and interest in the festival. Last year was no exception as it proved to be good platform, not only for the students but also for the companies who took the opportunity to associate their brands and products with the youth power. Various media houses covered the event as JAL mesmerized the evening. The average footfall has been close to 10000 for 3 days.

Amaze'06

AMAZE ’06 was a mega event organized by Indian Institute of Planning and Management. one of the premier business schools in India. A-maze is beyond just another festival, it is a celebration of joy, of success, of relationships - both old and new. Organizers and participants alike were oozing with enthusiasm and true to tradition, the event this year opened with "Fair Tell" the Debate.

The panel of judges, Prof. Rajita Chaudhuri, Prof. Navin Chamoli and Prof. Abhimanyu Ghosh, despite their busy schedule kindly consented to grace the event with their presence. Young blood argued vociferously over the extremely contentious topic "Tiger v/s Dragon"- arguments and counter arguments flowed – until time would silence their voices. In a pleasant turn of events, Director IIPM, Dr.M.K.Chaudhuri accompanied by Director Mam graced the event with their august presence. Other events for instance, think mad (ad zap), x-press-o(extempore) and mind free (creative writing) would test the creative genius within, while Its My Face and Antakshri added along with ICICI-do (dumb charades) added the fun quotient.

As the sun set and the evening sky glittered in all its glory, IIPM had a star studded panel of judges for the most celebrated events of the day, the Choreography contest – Whirl Cool and Mr & Ms Amaze. Vikram Solanki and Kabir Ali – heart throbs from the English cricket team – and supermodel Angad Bedi were faced with the daunting task of deciding the top performers of the day in the Choreography contest.

Out of shame, the stars went into hiding behind dark clouds as Ms. Naina Balsawar (ex miss-india), Ms. Neelam Rudy and a young and ambitious woman politician Ms. Avneet Singh (member, zilla-parishad Ghaziabad) along with the wonderful Prof.Neeta Tripathi took their seats at the judges desk to award the Mr&Ms. Amaze titles to one of the several aspiring candidates. The second day was simply extraordinary, participants turned up in true corporate ishtyle for Win-Dose (the business plan) and Info-Miss (the corporate quiz) and we watched in amazement as these intellectual let their hair down and lost themselves in the timeless melodies of Kishore and Pancham Da, sing to win seemed the statement for the day.

The venue moved to Mittal Gardens, people poured in, the foot-fall was quiet staggering, and they had all come to watch the flamboyant fashion show. Mumtaz and Pallavi, reputed jewellery designers and panelists at the Lakme India Fashion week awarded the first prize to IIPM for their scintillating performance.

JAL – our brothers from across the border – belted out numbers like 'Aadat' and 'Tere Bin' to which crowds cheered and danced. Those in love, fell in love again and the less fortunate ones fell in love with love. Amidst chants of once more and we love you, the night faded, noise gave way to a golden silence, as the crowd dispersed every soul that had been a part of this experience had just one thing to say "Truly Amazing".On that night IIPM truly rocked.

JAL - Live in Performance

At AMAZE 06’, the Pakistani rock band "JAL" who came to IIPM and totally rocked the evening. Gohar Mumtaz , Farhan Saeed and Shazi (Aamir) along with their band members began the concert with their songs - Aadat, woh lamhe and many more from their albums. It was an evening full of enthusiasm as excitement filled in the air and everybody was in a melodious mood swing to the beautiful numbers by JAL. Finally, when JAL sang their most popular song ‘aadat” the crowd knew the evening was drawing to a close. Sure enough, Farhan thanked the people as the audience longed for more.
