GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS & EVENTS No student can be a part of more than one team for the same event. The decision of the organizers and the panel of judges will be final and binding on all participants. The complete details will be provided prior to the commencement of each event. All the participants are required to carry a valid ID card of their institute. Please view the event detail for specific guidelines.
			Debate - The Event Been rolling on your couch lately watching the fiascoes in the parliament? You believe Parliament sessions are definitely "A" rated? Well, the scenario could be the same at AMAZE 2007 when you go all hearts out to prove your point and win the notion in your favour as we bring to you the perfect parliamentary debate. Following are the topics for the debate: TOPIC 1: There is no place for 'human rights' when terror strikes. TOPIC 2: It is manufacturing and not services which is the true indicator of an economy's wealth. TOPIC 3: Higher education in india should necessarily be privatised. Prize Worth Winner: Rs. 60,000 (Free trip 2 nights/3 days in London) Runner Up: Rs. 30,000 (Free trip 2 nights/3 days in Goa) Second Runner Up: Rs. 5,000 Rules and Guidelines Each team should consist of 2 members, all belonging to the same institute The team (comprising of 2 members) would have to choose one topic out of the listed above. If one team speaks in 'favour' of the topic, the other team shall have to necessarily speak 'against' on the same topic. Each member of the team gets 2 minutes to speak. The first buzzer is given after 1&1/2 minutes. The 2nd and the final buzzer is given at the end of 2 minutes (i.e. 30 seconds more). Negative marks is given for exceeding the time limit. The 'Question' and 'Answer' session follows thereof. The debate consists of two rounds (a) Qualifying Round (on Day I - 26th Nov., 2007) and (b) The Final Round (on Day II - 28th Nov., 2007 for the teams that clear the qualifying round) Day 1: Qualifying Round : a choice of 2/3 topics would be announced to the participants, one day in advance i.e. on 25th November, 07 by 10.00 am. Day 2: For the teams that qualify, the Final round will be held on day 2. Two Teams will be given a motion, and be pitched against each other. The team leader favoring the motion acts as the prime minister and the leader of the team against the motion acts as the leader of opposition. The teams will be given half an hour to prepare themselves on the topic; use of internet is allowed. The team for the motion starts the proceedings with their opening speeches, the team against the motion retaliates. The house is then open for discussions.
			Treasure Hunt - The Event A treasure hunt on bikes where participants are to chase clues around NEW DELHI to claim Captain Jack Sparrow’s coveted treasure. Teams are given precisely 1 hour to complete the treasure hunt. The first team to finish the task and return will be declared the winner. In the unlikely event that there are no teams which complete all clues, the team which submits the sheet with maximum correct entries wins. Entries received after the stipulated time will not be considered. The rider of the motor cycle must possess a valid driver's license. Participants will have to bring their own bikes; no vehicles will be provided by the organizers. Wearing a helmet is mandatory for both the driver and the pillion. Teams found violating this rule will be disqualified immediately. Any damage to the vehicle shall be the respective team's responsibility.
			Face Painting - The Event This event aims to give you a platform to express your feelings and thoughts by portraying a theme on your face, through a variety of colors... After this, you will have to explain to the jury what you are trying to express through your painting. Participants will get 45 minutes to paint. Paints and paint brushes will be provided to the teams by the organizers at the venue. Painting should be theme based, otherwise participants will be disqualified.
			Business Quiz - The Event No prizes for guessing, it is a quiz. Try your hand at beating the best Business Quizzers… And if you do, the money is all yours!!!! 			Flipback - The Event If you want to understand what flip back is, just look at things from the back of your mind. It's a competition where you have to speak for and against the topic at the same time. A grilling test of your knowledge and your ability to analyze the topics and the situations; now that's what 'flipback' offers. Prize Worth First Prize: Rs. 5,000 Second Prize: Rs. 3,000 Rules and Guidelines Each student is supposed to speak for and against the motion. Each Student would be given 1 minute to speak for the motion and 1 minute to speak against the motion. Students would lose marks if they are repetitive. 			Choreography - The Event If music sooths the soul, dance appeals to the eyes of the spectator. At IIPM, Choreography means varied dance formations and sequences that may be either picked from Hollywood or Bollywood charts. The energy infused in the audience is infectious and the competitors have indeed been the ones who deliver this energy from the stage. Submit the music - two copies on two separate CDs (audio cassettes not accepted) five hours prior to the event. Props and costumes subject to prior approval will have to be arranged by you. Obscenity in any form is strictly prohibited and shall lead to disqualification.
			IIPM Star - The Event We are on the look out for the next singing sensation. So if you are a singer, a performer and an entertainer do be a part of the "IIPM STAR" Prize Worth Winner: Rs. 50,000 (Free 2 nights/3 days trip to Turkey) Runners up: Rs. 10,000 Rules and Guidelines Maximum 2 participants per College The song has to be a Bollywood number. 			Photography - The Event Times go by, but memories remain. Let's capture them and keep them alive. This event gives you the opportunity to enhance the PHOTOGRAPHER in you. To create the feeling of nostalgia Amaze'07 introduces 'Photography' competition. 			Business Barons - The Event IIPM invites innovative business ideas for Business barons – the business plan contest. The event will be held in two phases: Phase I: Participants are required to email amaze07delhi@iipm.edu a soft copy of their executive summary. Phase II: Five teams would be selected in phase I. These selected teams will have to present their business plan to a panel of judges at IIPM. Prize Worth Winner: Rs. 15,000 Runners Up: Rs. 5,000 Rules and Guidelines Each team can comprise of a maximum of two members, all belonging to the same institute. Teams are to send in their entries with a suitable team name which will be used for future reference. There is no prior registration for this event. All entries of the executive summary received before the stipulated deadline shall be considered a registered entry. Phase I The word limit for the executive summary is 1500 words. The soft copies should be typed in Microsoft Word, with 1.5 line spacing and Font Times New Roman, Size 12. The participants should furnish the following details on the cover page: Name of institute Team name Names of team members Contact Numbers Email addresses This cover page will be detached before the executive summaries are given for panel evaluation. The name(s) of the team member(s) or their institute should not appear anywhere in the body of the paper. Phase II The results of first phase will be intimated to the teams. The five teams selected in the first phase will have to present their business plan. The best plan will receive the accolades.
			Creative Writing - The Event Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun. But let all of it culminate into something positive and productive to enrich the senses and entertain the mind. In a nutshell, creative writing is all about putting down all those wacky, great ideas and creating that impact. 			Ad Zap - The Event A contest that stretches the creativity and ingenuity of the participants to create a story board for a product as well as make an actual TV advertisement for inane, logic defying and even obnoxious products. This is a two stage event. In the first stage participating teams will be given a topic at the venue, on which they need to make a print ad. In the second stage they would be given a product or service on which they have to make an AV commercial. In case teams want to use any other software, they need to bring their own laptops with the desired software installed. Points are awarded for concept and creativity more than technical expertise. Teams that do not wish to use technical equipment do not stand to loose points for the same.
			Mr & Ms Amaze - The Event If you think you have it in you then Mr. & Ms. Amaze gives you the perfect platform to show your talent, style, smartness, good presence of mind and so on… It is a contest where you can participate to see where you stand; how well you face the audience and mesmerize people with your style… Prize Worth Winner: Rs. 30,000 each Rules & Guidelines Registration can be done by filling the registration form on the website or by calling Kaushal at 9810004726; Rahul at 9810842959 or by sending an email to amaze07delhi@iipm.edu with the subject 'Registration Mr. & Ms. Amaze' and the name of your college/B-school. Participants' performance will be evaluated on the basis of the written test by the jury, which will comprise of eminent personalities from different fields. Details of the final round will be furnished on the day of the written test at the venue itself. The judges will select the winners - the best male and the best female participant would walk down with the tag of Mr. & Ms Amaze'07
			Fashion Show - The Event We belong to a nation that has mothered the best of beauties and brain. Here is a chance to make heads turn as you walk the cat on the ramp and make the surrounding echo with "STYLE".
